Product overview

The BendPak MDS-6EXT extends the MDS open-centre concept for workshops that regularly encounter longer wheelbases or lifting points positioned farther apart. Its platforms are approximately 2,000 mm long, giving more reach than the standard MDS-6LP while retaining the open-centre working area. Pneumatic assistance helps the lift through its initial travel from the low position, and four hydraulic cylinders support balanced platform movement. It is a practical choice where a compact mid-rise system is preferred but standard platform length is too restrictive for the vehicles being serviced.

Workshop fit

BendPak MDS-6EXT is rated to 2,722 kg and is a extended open-centre mid-rise scissor lift. Published maximum lift is 933 mm; installation profile is surface-mount. Confirm vehicle mass and weight distribution, manufacturer-approved lifting points, ground clearance, track/wheelbase or pad reach, workshop bay dimensions, overhead clearance at full lift, electrical and pneumatic services, and the exact slab/foundation/recess requirements before supply or installation. Rated capacity alone does not establish vehicle suitability. For flush-mount products, the site recess/pit must be built to the exact supplied manual/revision – never from a generic scissor-lift drawing.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose MDS-6EXT instead of MDS-6LP?
The MDS-6EXT has longer platforms, making it better suited to vehicles with wider lifting-point spreads or longer wheelbases.
The current manufacturer page lists about 933 mm maximum lift height and about 972 mm with blocks. The Australian source currently shows slightly different values, so the supplied revision should be confirmed before publication.
Yes. The two-platform layout leaves the centre area more accessible than a solid-platform scissor lift.
The model uses pneumatic assistance/lock-release components. Iron Lift should confirm the exact Australian air requirement and connection before installation.
Its extended reach can be useful for many longer-wheelbase vehicles, including EVs, but suitability depends on approved lifting points, battery/underbody layout, mass and weight distribution.
